Bernard J. Rivers (Bernie) has over 40 years of Security, Law Enforcement experience. Before his Law Enforcement career, Bernie worked in retail loss prevention and security details. During his 40-year Law Enforcement Career, Bernie worked for the New York State Department of Correctional Services (DOCS), where he learned all aspects of facility security and contraband detection. During his time with DOCS, Bernie was a member of the Department's elite Crisis Intervention Unit (CIU); as a member of this team, he was trained in intelligence gathering. Also, during his tenure with DOCS, Bernie worked for various part-time police departments throughout Orange County. After leaving DOCS after ten years of service, Bernie joined the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Division of Law Enforcement (NYS-DEC/DLE). While employed by the DEC/DLE, he served as a uniformed Environmental Conservation Police Officer and Environmental Conservation Criminal Investigator. As an Investigator, Bernie worked on complex environmental criminal cases, including Hunter Related Shooting incidents (HRSI), both serious injury and fatal. Cause and Origin investigations as they relate to chemical and hazardous spills, dumping, and timber theft. Bernie also held various supervisory roles throughout his career before retiring as the Director of Law Enforcement.

 After retiring, Bernie took all of his knowledge and investigative skills and started Rivers, Training, Security & Investigations, LLC: DBA, RTS-Investigations. RTS-Investigations will specialize in Investigations related to the environmental conservation law, including HRSI and Cause and Origin investigations as they relate to chemical and hazardous spills.

 RTS-Investigations can also handle general investigations when available.
